Growing your faith - starting small
Further reading - Mark 4:26-32 for the story of the mustard seed and Matthew 13 for a greater understanding on the Kingdom of Heaven.
Everything in life starts small including your faith. Faith can begin very small, maybe a thought about Yahweh (God), a glance while walking past a street preacher or just wondering how we got here in the first place. In fact, faith can be as small as a mustard seed. Just get yourself a mustard seed and see how tiny it is! Plant one and watch it grow.
It reminds us that we all start somewhere. As you learn more about Yahweh, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, your faith will grow just like this mustard seed. This is what Jesus said about faith:
And he said, To what shall we compare the kingdom of Yahweh? and with what parable shall we picture it? It is just like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth. But when it is sown, it springs up and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds can settle under their shadow - Mark 4:30-32
Starting out on our individual faith journeys, we are all like these mustard seeds, but as we deepen our faith in Jesus, we become greater. We become stronger. Together we become part of Yahweh's Kingdom.
So if you’re wanting to grow your faith, start small and be consistent, make a commitment to read a chapter of your bible daily, set time aside each morning for prayer and before you know it, you, as that seed will be transforming into much more than just a seed.
May your day be blessed with love and peace.
