Keeping your faith in Jesus simple

Further reading at 2 Samuel 22:31 and Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-7

As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31

Back in the day, reading and understanding the Bible was simple - you read your bible, listened to the church sermon and prayed every day. Nowadays, everyone has an opinion on all aspects of the Bible and some can be quite vocal about it.

  • There are endless commentaries, books, web pages, social media, podcasts, debates, YouTube clips, Instagram and discussions

  • There are people who will deny there is a rapture whereas others are split between believing in the pre-tribulation and the post-tribulation rapture

  • Believers will debate about whether or not we should observe the Sabbath, what day it is on and what we can or can't do

  • Which Bible should we read? The KJV, NKJV, CSB, NLT, NIV, TLV - the list goes on totally confusing any fellow brothers and sisters who have only just picked up a Bible.

  • Should we pray to Yahweh or God, Yeshua or Jesus?

  • People will try to force their opinion as correct and others let it pass by and smile

  • Then, on top of that, you have to be on the look out for false prophets.

Phew - when you look at it this way, you can see how easy it is to become confused, whether you're new to reading the Bible or have read it several times over but at the end of the day, it's simple. The most important thing in your relationship with God and with Jesus is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If in doubt, read your Bible, trust in scripture and pray to a God who will always be with you.

Feel free to share your thoughts and may your day be blessed with love and peace.
