Navigating the seasons of life and gaining some sort of peace

Further reading: Ecclesiastes 3

As I stand by the graveside wondering where the years have gone, I am suddenly reminded of Ecclesiastes and the seasons of life. Having lost many people in recent years of all ages, it occurs to me that there is indeed a time for everything in this life and if we understand how the seasons of our life fit in with this beautiful piece of wisdom, we can gain some sort of peace in our life.

There will always be sad and happy times but this is to be expected because that's what life is.

A time to be born, and a time to die;

A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;

A time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh,

A time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones,

A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to gain, and a time to lose;

A time to keep, and a time to throw away;

A time to tear, and a time to sew;

A time to keep silence, and a time to speak

A time to love, and a time to hate;

A time of war, and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:2-8

It is clear that God is in control, we can try and add things or take things away but in the end, God has the final say. Our wonderful creator holds the final plans for this earth. As Ecclesiastes 3:15 says, "that which is has already been, and what is to be has already been."

Whatever season of life you are in right now, may your days be blessed with love and peace.
