The start of sin - do the right thing even when no-one is looking!

Further reading: Genesis 1, 2, 3 and James 4:17

It really is that simple - everything was created by God - heaven, earth, day, night, sky, land, sea, plants, trees, sun, moon, stars, creatures and finally man and woman. Yet it was this man and woman whose actions changed everything because of temptation. Tempted by the devil disguised as a serpent, they ate the fruit they were told not to eat.

They had everything they needed but wanted the one thing they couldn't have.

Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Genesis 2:15-17 NKJV

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience to God, we are all born as sinners because Adam was made in God's image, and as descendants of Adam, we were born in his image and likeness which makes us sinners until we are born again. In order to be born again (spiritually) we must repent our sins, ask for forgiveness from God and invite Jesus into our lives.

Next time there is a situation in your life where you are tempted, remember that the devil is prowling around. Keep looking to Jesus and do the right thing even when no-one is looking. James 4:17 reminds us therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Ask God to show you your sins so you can repent and turn away from them and in this way, you can start living a Godly life because you'll be more aware of sin.

As always, feel free to share your thoughts and comments. May your days be blessed with love and peace.
